IMF approves $14 mln loan for drought-hit Djibouti
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund on Monday agreed to boost financing for Djibouti by another $14 million to help the country deal with the impact of a drought in the Horn of Africa and an increase in global commodity prices. Somalia: UN group urges end to interim political arrangement
Djibouti, Feb 7 : The international group that brings together the United Nations and its diplomatic partners in support of efforts to restore peace and stability in Somalia insisted on Monday that the country’s current transitional governing arrangements must end on Aug 20 this year, as stipulated in recent agreements, and called for a new draft constitution by mid-April.

Djibouti: Radio Journalist Threatened and Tortured for 24 Hours
[RSF] Reporters Without Borders roundly condemns radio journalist Farah Abadid Hildid's abduction by the police yesterday and the threats and torture to which he was subjected during the 24 hours he was held. Hildid works for La Voix de Djibouti, a radio station that broadcasts on the shortwave from Europe and is now also available on the Internet.
